Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation

Dear Sir,

As announced by the Chairman of the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) on 27th May 2021, the Movement Control Order (MCO) will be imposed from 29th May – 11th June 2021 throughout the State of Sarawak to restrict the public's movement in order to mitigate the COVID-19 outbreak.

During the period, the timber industry has been listed as essential services and allowed to operate in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) issued by the SDMC from time to time. However, plywood, medium density fibreboard, particle board and glue mills as listed in Appendix 1 are allowed to operate 24 hours with not more than 60 per cent workers.
