Innovating for Sarawak’s Future: STIDC at SIIDEx 2026
Sarawak Timber Industry Development Corporation (STIDC) was pleased to be part of the Sarawak Invention, Innovation & Design Exposition (SIIDEx) 2026, held on 14 September at the Waterfront Hotel, Kuching.
Jointly organised by UiTM Sarawak and UiTM Penang, SIIDEx 2026 brought together innovators from academia and industry to showcase new ideas, technologies and products with potential for real-world application and commercialisation.
At the STIDC booth, visitors had the opportunity to explore several research-driven products highlighting the potential of Sarawak’s sustainable resources, including bamboo and biomass pellets, bamboo-based activated carbon, and engineered wood products.
STIDC remains committed to advancing the development of value-added timber and bamboo products, strengthening the state’s downstream timber industry and supporting Sarawak’s long-term economic and sustainability goals, including the RM8 billion timber export revenue target by 2030.
