General Information

Trade Promotion Section is responsible for organizing promotional activities for timber and timber products, facilitation, monitoring international trade issues and involves in bilateral and multi-lateral negotiations.

These are carried out through the following main activities:

Promotional Activities

• Timber selling mission / study visits;
• Participate in national and international exhibitions;

Facilitate Development of Timber Industry

• Stakeholders consultation/workshop & engagement with industry;
• Bilateral and multi-lateral negotiations on market regulations and requirements;
• Organize & coordinate foreign visitors (Familiarization Program); and
• Inter Agency Committee (IAC).

Market Research and Intelligence

• Monitoring market situation of timber and timber products;
• Gathering market information and data; and
• Manage and response to trade enquiries (within three (3) working days).
