General Information (Timber Industry License)


STIDC ORDINANCE 1973
(Incorporating all amendments up to 30th June, 2023)

 
5A.- (1)
 
No person shall establish, build, operate or manage any plant, factory or premises for carrying out any timber industry except under and in accordance with a timber industry licence issued by the General Manager on such terms and conditions.
 
 
5D.- (1)
 
Any person who establishes, builds, operates or manages any plant, factory or premises for carrying out any timber industry without a timber industry licence, or temporary permit issued under this Ordinance shall be guilty of an offence and shall, upon conviction, be punished with -

(a) in the case of a first offence, a fine of not less than five hundred thousand ringgit and not exceeding five million ringgit or imprisonment not exceeding five years or to both; and

(b) in the case of a subsequent offence, a fine of not less than one million ringgit and not exceeding ten million ringgit, and imprisonment not exceeding seven years, and in the case of a continuing offence, a further fine of not exceeding five thousand ringgit for each day during which the offence continues after conviction:
