1. Who should apply for a Timber Industry Licence?
 
Any company engaged in the timber industry as a Local Trader, Importer, Exporter, or Manufacturer in Sarawak

3. What is the procedure for issuing a Timber Industry Licence?

  1. Valid Trading Licence
  2. SSM Company Profile (ROC)
  3. Extract of registration business name (ROB)
  4. Certificate of registration business name (ROB)
Additional document for company with a mill
  1. ICC/ICA Approval
  2. Extract of Land Title
  3. 4 Copies of mill layout (submit hardcopy)
  4. Valid Operator Trading Licence (if any)
  5. Valid Operator Agreement (if any)
 
 
4. When can I renew my licence?
 
Licensees are permitted to initiate renewal applications within ninety (90) days prior to the licence expiry date through our TRACE system. The system shall generate an automated reminder commencing ninety (90) days before said expiry. Any renewal application submitted subsequent to the expiry date shall be subject to the prescribed late fee
 
 
5. Do I need to print and display my licence?
 
Yes you do. In the STIDC Ordinance, it is stated under section 5A(2)(b) “Every timber industry licence issued shall be displayed in a conspicuous part of the premises in respect of which the timber industry licence relates and be produced for inspection upon demand by the General Manager or any person duly authorised by him.
 
 
6. Is there any guidelines for the timber mill layout plan?
 
The following are the examples or format for the timber mill layout plan in accordance to STIDC requirements.
